Spring is over, but summer is quietly approaching, which indicates that we can go into nature to feel the beauty of nature; camp to enjoy a good time with family and friends; hike and climb to enjoy the scenery along the way. But the scorching sun may not be all that comfortable when summer camping, so how to stay cool when summer camping? Here are some simple methods to share with you.
1. Set up the tent under the trees
Setting up your tent in the shade is a great way to stay cool while camping in the summer. Instead of the tent, the trees will absorb most of the scorching sunlight, making it cooler inside the tent.
2. Choose a tent with a large area of mesh
The fine mesh of the tent can not only prevent insects from entering, but also allow the breeze to pass through, so it is advantageous to choose such a tent when summer camping.
3. Look for natural windy places
Nature's wind keeps you cool when summer camping. If your tent has a large area of mesh, it will allow the wind to pass through easily, thus keeping the tent cool. Therefore, when setting up a tent, first determine the wind direction, and then face the tent door to the wind.
Tip for determining the direction of the wind: Wet your finger and hold it up, the cooler side indicates the direction of the wind.
4. Use a tarp above the tent
Using a tarp is one of the best tips for staying cool while camping in the summer. It will reflect sunlight back into the sky, keeping the tent cool.
Note: The tarp needs to be set up on the top of the tent, fixed with wind ropes and trees, and at least 30 cm should be left between the tarp and the tent to keep the air flowing between them.
5. Open the outer layer of the tent
After falling asleep at night, the heat, moisture, and moisture generated by the human body will float upward and condense on the inner wall of the outer tent, making the inside of the tent sultry. So if the weather is sunny without rain, the outer layer of the tent can be opened to release the heat. But don't completely remove the outer layer, either in case of unexpected rain.
6. Wear light-colored clothing
Dark clothing absorbs sunlight and light-colored clothing reflects sunlight, so choose to wear light-colored clothing when summer camping. At the same time, choose quick-drying clothes with better perspiration and moisture permeability, loose and breathable to keep your body cool.
